Welcome to Toffee Hammer Carpentry. As a professional carpenter and joiner with over fifteen years’ experience in the trade, I specialise in designing and creating one-off pieces that are truly unique to each project I undertake in Oxfordshire.

My expertise lies in all aspects of bespoke carpentry and joinery. The handmade furniture, bespoke TV units and made-to-measure wardrobes I produce are highly sought after by my growing number of clients.

Working for myself since 2010, I take care of an entire contract from beginning to end. All aspects are project managed by me, and this personal service is appreciated by clients who are happy to just deal with one individual. Taking control of a job allows me to oversee everything, from design and material sourcing to construction, decoration, delivery, installation and aftercare.

Murphy Doors

I create stunning Murphy doors that enhance interiors and add a whimsical touch. Also called secret or hidden doors, these provide additional storage as well as practical access to any room. Some clients also install Murphy doors as a security measure.

YouTube Channel

I recently established a YouTube channel where I showcase a selection of the items created at Toffee Hammer Carpentry for clients in Chipping Norton and the surrounding areas. At some stage in the future I’d like to add both helpful and educational content.

Creative Results

Working closely with my clients throughout each project, every item of handmade furniture or bespoke carpentry and joinery I produce is specific to their home or premises, and tailor-made using a range of professional machinery based at my workshop in Charney Bassett.

As I take control of the fitting of everything I design and create – including the bespoke tv units and made-to-measure wardrobes - I can quickly adapt to any problems which may arise during any installation. I take full responsibility for this task, and it is essential that my clients are completely satisfied with my work and professional communication skills.

Past, Present, And Future Projects

Toffee Hammer Carpentry undertakes an extensive range of unique projects. For example, I played an integral role in the installation of the cafe at the first Oxfam Superstore. I built and fitted a bespoke 6m bar, plus the framework for a huge L-shaped bench with built-in power points, which was later upholstered in beautiful fabric. Highly praised, it is a distinctive feature in the superstore's cafe “The Water Tank".

For potential clients, I can present a range of my previous bespoke joinery works. This library of ideas is also beneficial for those who are searching for inspiration.

I am currently involved in a community project with Greenspace and Us. This is a partnership project between Oxfordshire County Council, Oxford Youth Enterprise, Name It Project, Fig Studio, RESOLVE Collective, The University of Oxford, Oxford City Council, and Natural England. The project is designed to understand the barriers and enablers that influence access to greenspace for girls and young women in East Oxford, and come up with potential solutions to increase access. This will be coming into fruition in the next couple of months and I will update the progress.

Fully insured, I offer a 1-year workmanship guarantee on all bespoke carpentry and joinery. This includes my handmade furniture, bespoke tv units and made-to-measure wardrobes.
